We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Shop Hand to join our team. We're looking for a dedicated individual who can handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced workshop environment. This role is crucial to our daily operations and offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and is eager to develop their skills further.
- Material Preparation: Safely and accurately operate our industrial band saw to cut steel, aluminum, and other materials according to precise measurements from blueprints or work orders. You'll be responsible for ensuring the right materials are selected and that all cuts are clean and exact to prevent waste.
- Forklift Operation: You will be a certified forklift operator, responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from the work area, and organizing inventory in the storage yard. A keen eye for safety and spatial awareness is essential.
- Assembly and Fabrication Support: Using a wide range of hand and power tools, including drills, impact drivers, angle grinders, and wrenches, you will assist in the assembly of our products. This includes fitting parts, bolting components together, and performing quality checks to ensure everything meets our standards.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance: You will be a key player in keeping our shop running smoothly. This involves performing routine maintenance on our saws, welders, and other machinery. You'll also be responsible for general upkeep of the facility, including cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and managing waste disposal.
- Inventory and Logistics: You'll help manage our material inventory, ensuring all incoming shipments are logged and stored correctly. Your ability to keep a well-organized and efficient workspace will be critical.
- Proven Experience: You must have hands-on experience operating an industrial saw and a valid forklift certification.
- Tool Proficiency: A strong command of various hand and power tools is a must. You should be comfortable with both assembly and basic repair work.
- Welding & Fabrication (A Big Plus): If you have experience with MIG or TIG welding and metal fabrication, you will be a highly valuable asset to our team. Please highlight any certifications or past projects in this area.
- Blueprint Reading: The ability to read and interpret basic mechanical blueprints and schematics is strongly preferred.
- Safety First: A steadfast commitment to workplace safety is non-negotiable. We expect all team members to follow safety protocols and contribute to a secure work environment.
- Physical Stamina: The role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods and to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to become a vital part of our production team. If you're a hands-on, proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your resume detailing your relevant experience.
