Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drilling Technologist with a strong technical foundation in wellbore construction, including wellhead configuration, casing tallies, cementing reporting, drilling bit records & BHAs summary, drilling time log, directional survey reporting & field data analysis. Proficient in industry standard software such as WellView (including initiating and managing new wells), Petro Sight, and skilled in database management for accurate and timely reporting. Adept at supporting the drilling operations team with precise documentation, schematics, and drilling data to drive safe, efficient and cost-effective drilling operations. Assist in the management of drilling material inventory, HWDP usage tracking, and other company-owned drilling equipment.
Reponsibility
•Support the Drilling Operations Team in accurately completing daily Wellview and Petrosight reports, ensuring consistency, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
•Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) on WellView and Petrosight entries, validating drilling data integrity and correcting discrepancies in real-time.
•Conduct drilling data analysis using WellView and other sources to identify operational trends, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
•Manage and track drilling material inventory, including casing, drill pipe, mud products, and other consumables, to support efficient supply chain coordination.
•Make drilling projections based on a schedule; assist finance in planning/tracking drilling revenue and cost.
•Monitor and document heavy weight drill pipe (HWDP) usage, ensuring proper placement, COSL-owned 5” HWDP DS-1 Category 5 inspection tracking & cost allocation.
•Support drilling cost analysis, providing input into cost tracking systems, variance reporting, and performance benchmarking.
•Assist in initiating and maintaining new wells in WellView from spud to TD, including detailed well schematics, casing tallies, timelog accuracy, BHA assemblies, wellhead configurations, directional survey reporting, cementing records, etc.
•Contribute to post-well reporting and lessons-learned documentation, ensuring data is captured for continuous improvement initiatives.
•Assist wellsite supervisors and safety personnel on site with invoice/ticket approvals, scheduling, administration, material and logistical responsibilities.
•Provide ongoing support and training to the drilling operations team and engineering team on how to capture data in WellView and how to utilize the reports for evaluation.
•Create SAGD WellView training manual for field supervisors.
Qualification
•15 years of industry experience is preferred.
•College diploma in engineering, data analysis or a related field.
•Experience in SAGD or Thermal Drilling operations is required, additional experience in AER regulations and environmental is preferred
•High degree of initiative and independent judgment
•Strong attention to detail; ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy
•Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines
•Good computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, drilling data information systems-Wellview and Petrosight.
•Ability to work well and communicate effectively within a multi-functional, integrated team
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and team-focused skills.

Pay: $65.00-$80.00 per hour
