POSITION SUMMARY

Performs the duties of Tool Crib Attendant. Applicant should have previous tool crib experience in a machine shop. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. There are occasional opportunities for overtime.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned

- Check-out/check-in tools for machines to machinists.

- Maintains records of tools issued to employees; takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using computers to enter transactions, validate information and maintain database.

- Orders tooling.

- Checks pricing and availability of requested material from a number of sources.

- Purchases all shop supplies (i.e. oils, abrasives, coolant, etc.) using PO.

- Put tooling, fixtures and catalog tools away.

- Kit and tool up jobs as instructed.

- Pre-set jobs as instructed.

- Maintain company Safety Data Sheet program.

- Communicate, support and reinforce the values of the organization professionally.

- Work in a team environment and be supportive of all company initiatives.

- Maintain a safe and organized work area.

- Ability to work efficiently within a team or independently on a regular basis.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, push, pull, reach and bend to the floor and must be able to push up to 75 lbs. occasionally

Hearing Ability

No special requirement

Visual Acuity

Near acuity and accommodation are required to read blueprints, set-up sheets, and travelers

Working Conditions

Works in Tool Crib approximately 50% or more during the working day, while on the shop floor, may be subject to

· High levels of noise

· Physical hazards of moving equipment and machine parts

· Flying cutting fluid and coolant

· Varying degrees in temperature

Work Experience

Must have a general knowledge of the machining industry and tooling.

Equipment or Software

· Shop Keeper 2000

· Microsoft office

· Ability to learn new software, applicable to the position

· Ability to read calipers and micrometers

· Ability to read blueprints

· Parlec pre-setter

Education

· High school diploma or GED

· 2 years of additional education and/or experience

· An AA in Machine Technology is desired
