A BEC Broadband Plant Technician typically works outdoors in all weather conditions.

The position requires knowledge of (or the ability to successfully obtain and maintain knowledge of) fiber optic construction, splicing and a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of safe electric line construction, electric line maintenance, troubleshooting, and public relations.

Position requires the ability to work overtime and/or on call duty after normal working hours, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Candidate must possess (or be able to obtain) a valid minimum Texas Commercial Class A Driver's License (CDL) and have an acceptable driving history.

Candidate must possess the ability to successfully complete Utility Pole Climbing Training and successfully certify in Pole Top Rescue and Bucket Truck Rescue Training within 90 days of employment.
