What You Will Contribute:
The Maintenance III is responsible for performing assigned/scheduled repairs and maintenance on machines, equipment, buildings and grounds which will include both inside and outside work involving plumbing, sheet metal fabrication, heating and air conditioning, carpentry, painting and lubrication for badger’s facilities. This role will be responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area and will proceed under general supervision. In this role you will communicate with management daily activities, anomalies in work areas, and unsafe conditions.
Job Duties:
•Instruct, guide and train other maintenance personnel as required.
•Inspects, replaces, installs, adjusts and moves plant machinery and equipment as required.
•Troubleshoots machine and equipment malfunctions (both mechanical and electrical) and makes mechanical adjustments or repairs to correct issues.
•Rebuilds and repairs somewhat complicated machinery and equipment.
•Overhauls troublesome components and attachments which may involve dismantling, inspection, replacement of purchased parts, fitting, aligning of gears, bearings and shafts, involvement in the application of pressed, sliding and running fits.
•Operates simple machine tools to machine replacement parts.
•Initiates purchase requisitions for required parts and materials.
•Perform basic and advanced repairs and troubleshooting on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
•Perform coupling and gearbox alignments, and replace electric motors.
•Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild friction bearings, conveyors, exhaust fans, blowers and overhead cranes.
Education and Experience:
•Minimum of 576 hours of formal post-high school instruction at a recognized specialized trade, technical school or college in a related field(s) and certificate program required. State approved Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship program preferred.
•5+ years of experience in a similar role desired; Minimum of 8000 hours of work experience completing tasks included in Maintenance II job description.
Qualifications:
•Basic computer skills required
•Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable
•Must show intermediate proficiency in applied mathematics, especially algebra and geometry
•Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild compressors, pumps, valves, actuators, and cylinders required
•Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild friction bearings, conveyors, exhaust fans, blowers and overhead cranes required
•Demonstrates advanced technical and professional competence in rebuilding or overhauling of machines and troublesome machine components (both mechanical and electrical)
•Must have the ability to flame cut and weld in a variety of metals, and fabricate components using those same metals
•Must have the ability to interpret and work from documents, blueprints, and schematics (both hydraulic and electrical
•Extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment and software strongly preferred
•Ability to work from machine design drawings, specifications and handbook formulas required
•Ability to use scales, squares, calipers, indicators, Jo blocks, levels, verniers, parallels, cutting torch, welding etc. required
•Ability to safely operate a lift truck, aerial lift and articulating lift, pallets jack and other lifting and rigging equipment required

•Work is performed in a Manufacturing environment
•Work is performed indoors/outdoors; may be exposed to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
•Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and complete an audiogram test
