The Field Engineer verifies design change paperwork against existing plant design drawings in support of the drawing revision project.
The Field Engineer will participate in and conduct walk-downs of existing facilities, systems, structures and components to aid in the closure of Plant Modifications and Engineering Change Requests.
•Uses manual drafting to produce applicable sketches and drawings under minimal supervision.
•Work as part of the multidiscipline engineering team in support of maintaining and upgrading utility systems and facilities by providing quality design information to drafters.
•Interfaces with drafters and design engineers to establish and maintain technical baseline documentation on assigned facilities/systems. Technical baseline documentation provides an accurate picture of our facilities and assets. This allows our Operations and Maintenance teams to effectively do their job in the field by utilizing an accurate drawing of assets.
•Completes historical drawing research and integrates appropriate and verified information into new baselines.
•Collaborates across multiple disciplines and actively engages stakeholders for their feedback.
•Performs field work such as walk downs and data gathering of existing utility systems and facilities, systems, structures and components.
•Is involved with and supports technical solutions to complex and/or unique problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity and independence. Solutions are frequently original and impact the outcome of the entire project.
•Applies advanced technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques in the completion of complex work assignments.
•Facilitates and is involved in design reviews with stakeholders, addressing compatibility between of design drawings and models with other disciplines, clarifying interfaces and resolving issues.
Requirements:
•5 years or more experience in Nuclear Engineering or a related technical field.
•Seeking candidates who can identify and resolve issues with design changes.
•Must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and be able to present information to others.
•Must be able to determine technical objectives of assignments, which may be completed without established procedures under minimal supervision.
•Must have a high level understanding of modeling, drawing and drafting principals for application of symbols and notes to drawings and models to capture design intent.
•Must have a strong enough ability to grasp engineering, design, and drafting concepts related to relevant disciplines under minimal supervision.
•Must be able to read, verify, and mark up multiple discipline drawings to include gas, water, electric, steam/condensate and sanitary sewer systems.
•Must be able to grasp and apply concepts from all engineering disciplines due to the nature of engineering, configuration management, and technical baseline development.
•Must be able to work well in teams with minimal oversight and supervision.
•Must have an intermediate knowledge of applicable regulations and understand the regulatory process.
•Must be able to propose and implement changes for the facility.
