This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making by providing in-depth financial insights into operations and modeling corporate development opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
•Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
•Analyze trends in operational expenses, revenue, and capital utilization across regions (e.g., Permian, Appalachia, Haynesville).
•Monitor and report on key financial performance metrics (e.g., utilization, job margins, EBITDA per fleet, cost per stage).
Reporting & Business Insights
•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
•Create dashboards and KPI scorecards to track asset utilization, service line profitability, and customer-level margins.
•Provide ad hoc analysis to support management in areas such as pricing strategy, field cost optimization, and contract profitability.
•Leverage AI-powered analytics and automation tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and reduce manual reporting efforts.
•Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to integrate machine learning models into dashboard and reporting tools.
Operational Support
•Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to deliver financial support and guidance.
•Participate in capital planning and asset deployment strategies for major products and auxiliary equipment.
•Analyze cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for financial improvement across logistics, labor, and consumables.
•Identify and implement AI and automation solutions for cost analysis, equipment utilization forecasting, and predictive maintenance.
Project & Investment Analysis
•Conduct valuation and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses for strategic initiatives and capital projects.
•Support M&A activity and new market entry strategies through detailed financial modeling and due diligence.
Skills & Abilities
•Bachelor of Science in accounting, economics, or related field.
•3+ years in a financial analyst role. (oil and gas industry preferred)
•CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
•Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Qualifications
•Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
•Experience with an ERP system (i.e. salesforce, Power BI)
•Understanding of field-level operations and cost structure within the oil and gas industry
•Familiarity with key financial KPIs specific to the oil and gas industry
•Hands-on experience applying AI/ML tools or advanced analytics in financial or operational contexts (i.e.Python, predictive modeling, automated forecasting, NLP driven reporting tools).
•Proven experience in benchmarking and competitive intelligence gathering and reporting to support strategic decision-making
•Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
•Excellent communication skills
