This position will report to the West Point operation center. Normal work schedule is Monday through Thursday 0600 to 1630. The position will have periodical on call shifts.
Under broad guidance, the SCD Lead Construction Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the operations, maintenance, and construction crew activities of the interceptor system, ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the wastewater pipeline, pump stations, treatment plants, and related infrastructure. The role involves supervising teams across construction, maintenance, and system operations; ensuring compliance with HRSD safety and regulatory standards; coordinating projects with internal and external stakeholders; and integrating advanced technologies to enhance system reliability and efficiency. This position also oversees preventative maintenance programs, asset management coordination, and emergency response efforts.
- Completion of all trade-required apprenticeship courses or equivalent as determined by HRSD’s Apprenticeship Committee.
- Additional technical training in management, leadership, or mechanical or utility maintenance.
- College-level coursework in construction management, civil engineering, or related technical fields.
- Five years of maintenance experience related to wastewater systems, including experience in the operation and repair of wastewater interceptor systems or collection systems.
- Two years of experience leading teams and managing work projects and schedules.
- Experience using computer systems for work scheduling and reporting.
- Experience with planning and coordinating large-scale repair or maintenance projects, including Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects
- Familiarity with system reliability programs and coordinating with localities and contractors.
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with N (Tank Vehicle) endorsements (to be obtained within 12 months of appointment).
