Under broad guidance, the Chief Engineer is responsible for the supervision, leadership and direction of each department within the Engineering Division including Design & Construction and Planning & Analysis. The Chief Engineer is also responsible for providing input and guidance to all divisions within HRSD related to engineering, technical and real estate matters. The Chief Engineer serves on senior leadership and management related teams and committees within HRSD.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred) or related degree and Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or Business
- Minimum of ten years of total experience in some or all of the following areas: planning, design, construction, project management, procurement, or systems modeling
- Minimum of three years of experience in a senior management capacity within a related engineering or technical field
- Experience leading teams, planning and implementing work projects, budgets, procurement, and schedules
- Experience working with boards, executive leadership teams, regulatory agencies, and government stakeholders
- Previous experience with property acquisition and real estate matters
- Design-Build Institute Environmental of America Professional (DBIA)
