Oxy’s Summer Intern Program runs from May to August for a full
12 weeks.As an Oxy intern, you will have the opportunity to experience
real-life projectswith hands-on participation in Oxy’s core businesses. Your summer project will be designed to
add valueto our operations while providing an opportunity to observe your skills and competencies in action. Oxy interns are paired with a manager and mentor in order to provide
technical guidancethroughout the project timeline. In addition to attending
training and developmentcourses,
lunch and learns, field trips,and

Responsibilities
- Apply reservoir engineering concepts to understand and optimize the production and recovery. Including: Rock and fluid properties, relative permeability, depletion mechanisms, secondary and tertiary recovery.
- Utilize fundamental reservoir engineering to quantify performance.
- Have a strong understanding of reservoir analysis fundamentals such as pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis, material balance, and numerical simulation.
- Be able to QC well data and be able to recognize and extract wellbore signals that show reservoir properties.
- Have formal report writing skills.
- Possess strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Participate in technical presentations and reviews.
- Keep up with industry reservoir engineering technology and OXY reservoir engineering publications.
- Provide economic evaluations.
- Be able to quickly learn petroleum related software required for the internship.

- Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Petroleum and graduate degrees are preferred)
- Maintain minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Must have a graduation date of December 2026 – May 2028
- Desire to pursue career in Oil and Gas
- Have strong reservoir engineering analytical skills.
- Have some awareness of reservoir simulation.
- Be familiar with surface and downhole well equipment.
- Be Familiar with multi-phase flow in reservoirs.
- Have some knowledge of typical well completions.
- Be proficient at economic evaluations.
- Have multi-tasking and problem-solving skills with an ability to recommend practical solutions.
- Have the ability to interact effectively with team members and other OXY employees.
- Exhibit the qualities of a good team player such as conveying a positive attitude within/outside the organization, contributing ideas, open minded, able to work under pressure, and collaborating with team members.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate well, mentor, beneficially influence others, build teamwork, and spur innovation.
