Summary
Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a machine during the production cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Operates and control machine settings
•Effectively uses overhead cranes to lift steel onto machine
•Feeds material through the machine, creating specific cuts/holes into the columns and/or beams
•Identifies and loads correct electronic data, AutoCAD files and machine programs to complete the setup for each job.
•Examines work and check defects regularly
•Completes and maintains any required paperwork, records and documents
•Checks work area for hazards
•Complies with safety regulations and wears appropriate PPE at all times
•Leaves work area in a clean/safe state when shift is complete

Education and/or Experience
•High school diploma or equivalent required; or demonstrated extensive welding experience
•1-2 years of machine operating experience preferred
•Prior CNC programming experience is a plus
Other skills
•Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints
•Ability to understand measurements and use a tape measurer
2nd Shift-2:00pm to 10:00pm; Monday through Friday.
