West Virginia Apprentice Miner

NOTE: This position will be on the Third Shift (OWL)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Ensure the company's "Absolute ZERO" safety culture is embedded in all work performed.

- Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine.

- Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas.

- Willing to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of mine management and co-workers.

- Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.

- Requires being responsible and dependable while fulfilling work obligations.

- Requires attention to detail and must be thorough in completing work tasks.

- Establish and maintain personally challenging achievement goals.

- Must comply with Company and mine policies regarding Absenteeism, Personal Conduct, and Harassment as well as all policies, standards and expectations.

- Must comply with regulatory agencies including MSHA and state regulatory agencies.

- Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Must be 18 years of age

- WV Underground Apprentice Miner Certification Required

- Record of good work attendance and punctuality

- Must be able to work as scheduled and assigned

- Must be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a team.

- Must be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. *Physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demands

- Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job.

- Must be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies.

- Excellent interpersonal skills
