About This Job
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Bobcat Operator to join our hardworking team in a fast-paced, high-volume scrap yard environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a Bobcat and will be responsible for moving metal, cleaning up yards, and working safely around heavy machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment operation and safety protocols, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure project success.
Duties
•
Safely operate skid steer (Bobcat) loaders to move, load, and sort scrap metal and materials
•
Clean up debris, organize materials, and maintain clear pathways in the yard
•
Assist with loading/unloading trucks and containers
•
Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance on equipment
•
Follow company and OSHA safety guidelines at all times
•
Work closely with scale operators, torch cutters, and truck drivers
•
Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on-site to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
•
Proven experience operating Bobcats or skid steer equipment
•
Ability to work in a loud, outdoor, industrial environment
•
Good communication and teamwork skills
•
Must be punctual, dependable, and safety-oriented
•
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
•
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
•
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
•
Scrap yard or recycling experience preferred but not required
