- Instruct classroom, lab, and clinical components of assigned nursing and allied health courses.
- Collaboratively develop and implement a concept-based course plan in a team-based learning format.
- Examine and make recommendations for instructional resources to the faculty team.
- Facilitate student learning by providing a safe and supportive environment and encouraging active student participation.
- Use innovative instructional strategies and emerging technologies to enhance learning.
- Facilitate distance education delivery and provide support to off-campus students.
- Use knowledge of diverse communities and skill sets to customize effective teaching methods.
- Evaluate student learning and performance and provide timely formative feedback.
- Maintain accurate and complete course records, and enter student engagement ratings and final grades in accordance with established deadlines.
- Foster effective working relationships with the healthcare team to provide a comprehensive and safe environment for students' clinical learning experiences.
- Work with clinical preceptors to develop an instructional plan outlining clinical learning experiences and to assess students' clinical performance.
- Provide a high level of evidence-based nursing care to patients.
- Function as a role model for professional nursing and communicate this role to students.
- Share pertinent student information with colleagues, including but not limited to progress reports, attendance records, and academic difficulty issues.
- Assist students with degree planning and conduct regularly scheduled advisement sessions to discuss progress toward achieving learning outcomes.
- Provide a workload schedule showing instructional and office hours.
- Oversee the efficient use of supplies and equipment in the college laboratory and clinical areas.
- Participate in annual and five-year academic program review, including assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institutional level, using feedback to make improvements.
- Assist with positive program promotion and recruitment.
- Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing licensure requirements.
- Fulfill responsibilities in a professional manner and in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
