PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Perform most of the work individually. Essential tools will be provided, however, accountability and maintenance will be the employee’s responsibility
•Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without manufacturing errors
•Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management
•Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all safety policies and procedures. Follow all OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.

•Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision

•Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
•Apply coatings, such as paint, to protect the workpiece surfaces, using spray guns or brushes.
•Examine finished surfaces of workpieces to verify conformance to specifications and retouch any defective areas.
•Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
•Read blueprints, SOPs, and inspect workpieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
•Select and mix ingredients to prepare coating substances according to specifications, using mechanical mixers.
•Clean surfaces of workpieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, sandpaper, or cloth.
•To carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•To contribute to general improvements in the quality of key activities within the department.
•Comply with all Company and Safety policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•A minimum of 3 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
•A thorough knowledge of Industrial Painting procedures and practices are essential to ensure the quality of the product.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
•Must be willing and able to obtain a painter’s certification through internal and/or external sources to perform job responsibilities.
•Ability to calculate formula using basic mathematics, standard U.S., and Metric Measurements
•Able read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, manufacturing drawings or similar information
•Be able to stand for long periods while using spray guns and/or a high-pressure blast hose.
•Be able to wear a fresh air supplied blast helmet for up to 10-12 hours a day.
