The salary range for this position depends on location and experience level. For Connecticut, the salary range is from $138,343 to $172,929. For NY and Maine, the salary range is from $125,766 to $157,208.
Will be in charge of defining the material, equipment standardization, assets maintenance procedures, renewal policies and improvement process, with the purpose to provide unified criteria, methods and procedures in Electrical Substations across Avangrid operating companies.
Must manage organizational performance to maximize the efficiency of processes related to Substation, improving reliability and contributing to operating efficiency.
Provides the expertise and technical advice to senior management level.
Responsibility includes accomplishment of broad corporate objectives and department goals.
Monitor, control and set standards, maintenance procedures for Electrical Substations including environmental and safety requirements. Carry out the needed studies and provide the technical and economic analysis to assist in the definition of the renewal planning and investment decision making related to the Substations. Analyzes broad technical alternatives to develop long-range technical direction. To ensure continuity of service, high reliability and cost-effective substation facilities including interconnected system protection and communication systems. Provides technical support to the team and to the operations department of the companies Provides leadership and assistance in equipment and service contracting agreements definition to drive efficiencies. Directs & manages subordinate Management staff. Sets department goals and strategic direction and initiates action plans and assignments to accomplish goals. Provides technical support, guidance, coaching and counseling toward effective performance and appraises individual performance. Develops organizational performance measures, initiates actions to enhance performance, reviews work processes, systems, procedures and practices and directs changes to improve productivity or control costs. Set and administers company policies and procedures. Plans and implements training and development of department personnel. Determines staffing needs and obtains approval for resource requirements. Develops and controls department budget. Recommends promotions, personnel changes, budgets, organizational changes and company policies. Coordinates with other departments, consultants, utilities, regulatory agencies and government agencies. May represent the companies in technical committees at NYISO, ISO-NE, NPCC, and other regulatory agencies. Provide technical input and testimony to the Public Utilities Commissions if need it.
- Bachelor’s degree with 7 years relevant experience required.
- Broad experience in designing, delivery, and/or operating Substations.
- Extensive background in Substation Management area (Designing, Commissioning, Troubleshooting, Maintenance Program Management)
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing federal and state statutory and regulatory codes and actions.
- Exceptionally strong planning, coordinating and organizational skills.
- Competent leadership skills, with ability to manage multiple assignments and conflict resolution.
- Strong communication skills to articulate highly technical concepts
- High safety adherence to involve the activity
- Able to communicate effectively with outside regulatory and governmental agencies, as well as the rest Companies across AVANGRID Networks.
