Job Summary
Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of the Gas Technical Training team. The technical training staff is responsible for executing progression, Federal and State required programs and other programs as required in accordance with CBAs and business needs within the gas training disciplines.
The Manager role will also have direct oversight of the strategy on all Gas Companies Instructional Design development needs through vendor management. Working with different business area leaders on their needs to identify requirements of resources, funding, etc. aligning with rate case filing asks to ensure needs are being met. Responsible for the establishment, implementation and use of metrics to improve training process and quality. Works in tandem with leadership in Technical Training to develop best in class training department across all areas of training creating an immersive learning experience for students.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Creates yearly training plans for all Gas Companies to ensure business needs are met
•Direct supervision over Technical Training Supervisors, Gas Engineering and Operations, providing guidance and direction to ensure all initiatives are completed and add value to the Company.
•Oversee the development and implementation of new programs and services to optimize employee productivity and provide for a qualified and safe workforce.
•Prioritize customer requests to ensure most effective use of training resources.
•Ensure that required training follows Company, regulatory, State and Federal mandates.
•Develop KPIs to show value of training within the organization
•Identify, analyze, and prioritize skill and training requirements and develop curricula and programs to address critical gaps.
•Lead innovation projects to enhance the learning experience and provide an immersive approach to technical training where appropriate
•Manages department budget
•Occasional travel is required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Skills/Abilities:

•Ability to act decisively in emergency situations and work effectively with all levels of the Company.
•Ability to design and conduct effective training programs (e.g. instructional design, presentation skills, managing the learning environment)

•Aptitude to identify and upskill training staff as appropriate
•Strong leadership abilities to navigate a matrixed environment
•Skilled in developing a team environment
Required Education:
o Bachelor’s degree preferred.
o Associates degree with experience.
o Substantial experience may be considered substituted for degree.
Experience/Training:
•At least 7 years of experience (depending on education)
•Knowledge & experience in electric and/or gas operations.
•Supervisory experience is desirable.
•Working knowledge of adult learning principals and methodologies
•Experience conducting technical training and resolving day to day
•Working knowledge of all company policies and procedures, OSHA
•Maintenance and Construction Standards, and requirements related to the
•Experience working with union environments is desired.
