The Logistics Packaging Specialist will be responsible for packing and shipping all materials that leave the building. Design and create packaging as needed for all mill and fabrication materials: using wood, corrugated materials etc. Responsible for loading and unloading trucks and supporting Logistics team as needed.
- Package, crate, and prepare mill products and fabricated parts for shipment.
- Prepare labels and proper identification on shipments.
- Ship materials according to customer instructions provided.
- Must use power tools, i.e. air nail gun, table and circular power saw, panel saw, etc.
- Loads trucks properly, braces full container loads to prevent loads from shifting and damaging material.
- Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards.
- Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition will be the 5S coordinator for the Logistics area.
- Operate a fork-lift as needed to move material and load and unload trucks.
- Receives incoming materials, confirms package condition and accuracy of documents, and delivers to internal destinations as needed.
- Performs shipping transactions for external customers.
- Performs data entry into SAP ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Operates powered industrial lifting equipment to safely transport materials and chemicals between departments.
- Operates a 24’ Box Truck to transport materials between buildings.
- Operates woodworking equipment to assemble wood crates for external shipments.
- Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and standard operating procedures to ensure personal safety and high product quality.
- Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition daily by following 6S Standard Work practices.
- Cross train in other process areas as time permits
- Requires high school/vocational degree with a woodworking and carpentry concentration is preferred.
- Reliable and dependable, with a commitment to safety and quality
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and team attitude
- Minimum two years experience with woodworking required.
- Must have the ability to receive a fork lift license and a HAZMAT certification. Training will be provided.
- Licensed driver with highly reliable driving record
- Must be able to complete Hazmat Training in accordance with CFR49HM 181.215A and 215B.
- This position may require the applicant to be licensed under certain United States laws and regulations
- Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor and requires ambulation.
- Work time is spent in a factory environment where temperatures fluctuate.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
