Responsibilities:
The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for complete payroll processing, benefits and pension administration, as well as absence tracking for CRI employees. She also plays an active role in continuous process improvement and is involved in the implementation of a new integrated payroll system.
•Complete payroll processing for all employees, within established deadlines.
•Verify time and attendance data in the EzLabor and Workforce Now (ADP) systems for each payroll cycle.
•Apply any necessary adjustments (e.g. time corrections, changes in status, position or salary, rates for working in a higher job class).
•Transmit payroll to ADP after validation.
•Prepare payroll analysis reports and submit for approval prior to final dispatch.
•Document payroll processes and suggest improvements to supervisor.
•Provide ad hoc reports and analyses to management.
•Reconcile payroll data with benefit supplier invoices.
•Manage Simplified Pension Plan (SPP) contributions for both employee and employer.
•Process requests for deductions at source (excluding mandatory deductions), such as alimony or wage garnishments.
•Participate in the implementation of the new integrated payroll system.
•Conduct a minimum of four site visits per year to maintain contact with teams, answer employee questions and support supervisors.
•Produce and follow up on monthly union dues reports.
•Perform any other related duties as requested by the supervisor.
Profile
•Diploma (college or university) in administration or human resources, or in an appropriate discipline.
•Canadian Payroll Association certification is an asset
•A minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll management
•Experience with ADP payroll system.
•Excellent command of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
•Bilingualism French English required (oral and written)
