Absolute Energy Services LLC is a growing oilfield services company seeking an experienced Lead Fleet Mechanic with in-depth knowledge of the Ford F-Series line of trucks, including F-450, F-550, and F-650 light and medium-duty vehicles. This position requires both technical expertise and leadership skills, with a strong emphasis on hands-on maintenance and repair.
The Lead Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing fleet maintenance operations, managing service intervals, conducting inspections, ensuring adequate spare equipment availability, coordinating crew equipment changes, sourcing replacement parts, and providing troubleshooting and technical training to team members.
- Coordinate and perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of company vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct and oversee scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of trucks and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair issues with engines, transmissions, drivetrains, differentials, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, AC units, and chassis components.
- Disassemble, overhaul, and replace worn or defective parts as required.
- Recommend and perform modifications to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Review equipment status with operational personnel and document findings.
- Serve as a mentor to junior mechanics, providing training and guidance.
- Maintain compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Ensure parts sourcing and inventory management to support uninterrupted operations.
- Be actively involved in hands-on repairs-this is not a standalone supervisory role.
- Purchase and handle A/C refrigerant for repair and maintenance as needed.
- High School diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification required.
- 6–10 years of experience working on Ford F-Series vehicles (F-450, F-550, F-650).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, particularly with electronic systems.
- Working knowledge of Mack trucks and Caterpillar backhoe/skid steer equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT/OSHA compliance requirements.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a hands-on environment.
- Valid driver’s license (appropriate class for company vehicles).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Physically capable of lifting at least 50 lbs. and working in outdoor conditions.
- Proficient in the use of company-provided diagnostic computers and scanners.
- Reliable, ethical, adaptable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
