Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Set up heat additions according to Standard Operating Procedures, identifying all raw materials and remelt used.
- Inspect and stack ingots to meet specifications, weighing and identifying each heat, and taking required samples.
- Safely operate a 20-ton overhead crane to transfer a 4,500 lb. ladle filled with molten metal from the making furnace to the casting station.
- Ensure the ladle is properly cleaned and ready for the next use.
- Operate a forklift safely through high-traffic areas to transport heavy and potentially hot materials.
- Work in areas near furnaces and large pots of molten metal.
- Climb up and down ladders as needed.
- Assist the rod mill crew during start-up operations.
- Identify and differentiate color coding used in the plant to ensure proper handling and processing of materials.
- Collect and record all required data accurately.
- Support the Furnace Operator as needed.
- Keep your work area clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Follow all company policies, values, and safety procedures, including job-specific safety requirements.
- Complete required training and stay up to date on safety protocols.
- Highschool Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- 1-3 months of related foundry, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License required
A pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical exam are required. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of these checks. Candidates who refuse or cannot pass the drug screen with clear results (free of controlled substances) will not be eligible for hire.
