You will perform assigned duties in the burning department. You will perform the essential functions operation, maintenance, cleaning. Basic computer skills are needed or be willing to learn the system operation.
- Verify the truck is in the right place to start unloading.
- Start the system following the procedure for start up and operation using the control display in the kiln house.
- Fix problems when the system shows alarms.
- Communicate with fireman to know if the kiln is working properly.
- Inspect the loop for leaks and noises from friction between parts.
- Close the safety valves if needed.
- Must check the following. Hydraulic connection from the pump to the truck before start unloading. Flow of sawdust through machinery. Unloading Box, Screws, Screens and air systems. Check air conveyor systems and check for air leaks. Check dust collector, motors and coupling, flow of sawdust in the burners. Stop up lines. Check speeds and outputs on the feeders using Kil-tel System. Check air pressure in burners when needed, check generator and be sure that it’s on stand by.
- Maintenance and Cleaning – Grease bearing on the feeders, grease machinery in the sawdust unloading building, inspect all the level sensor for correct operation, clean filters in the control cabinets, fix small maintenance problems. Clean top of kiln where the burners are, clean feeders, clean control cabinets, pick up sawdust that comes out of trucks when they are unloaded, empty the hopper that holds the waste coming out of the screening process.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs. constantly and be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to twist, stoop, bend and crawl.
- Must be able to climb ladders, steps and work in high places
- Hardhat, safety glasses and still toe shoes required.
