Summary: The Water Spider is responsible for keeping assembly work cells fully supplied with materials (both consigned and fabricated), thus controlling the continuous flow of productivity, assuring that the daily production and on-time-delivery schedules are met.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Consistent walk through of assembly to ensure all materials are staged at the point of use for assembly.
- Check the status of required parts using ERP system and other reporting tools. Report shortages to Scheduling.
- Retrieve and organize boxes, pallets, carts, racks, etc. as required.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Set up/stage assembly line with required components (consigned/fabricated).
- Stage consigned and fabricated inventory for upcoming runs.
- After completion of an assembly job - Count remaining staged inventory and rectify the counts against the system. Pass along needed inventory adjustments to Fulfillment.
- Work with the assembly team and the material handler to prepare the assembly room(s) for switch-over to the next run of Mendota units.
- Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to appropriate cells and/or individuals.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
- Assist with inventory audits and adjustments as needed.
- Fill in on the assembly line or in hardware when needed or available.
- 2 years of general manufacturing production experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Excel
