This role requires broad tax, accounting and project management skills, as well as the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Reporting to the VP-Tax, the Director-Tax will manage all aspects of the Company’s accounting for income taxes, FERC reporting, U.S. Federal and state income tax compliance, planning and strategy. This role will interact with senior finance leaders of the organization and be the liaison with multiple levels of management and staff to coordinate the flow of information between various functions, while also providing leadership, guidance and assistance for tax-related issues for the Company.
- Help minimize tax risks associated with IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, and other business dealings
- Manage quarterly and year-end accounting and reporting for income taxes under ASC 740, implementation of new tax accounting pronouncements
- Maintain ownership of tax internal controls
- Manage preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local income tax returns and projections
- Review selected complex partnership, corporate and information tax returns
- Manage all aspects of FERC reporting
- Manage all tax audits and lead in the analysis and resolution of all complex tax issues
- Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the IRS or Treasury Department.
- Identify and drive process improvement projects within the corporate tax function
- Supervise and collaborate with outside tax advisors on various projects, as required
- Provide leadership, communication, education, mentoring and coaching to finance tax professionals
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.

- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Tax, Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum of ten (10) years prior experience in industry or public accounting tax
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and develop a team of direct reports
- Must demonstrate business-oriented approach to communicating taxes and tax planning, and be able to effectively communicate with and influence non-tax business leaders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage critical timelines
- Adaptable and comfortable with change
- Current CPA license
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

- The annual salary range for this position will be $150,000-$260,000/yr.
