Role Summary
A Pneumatic/Hydraulic Tubing Technician is an individual who has general and specific understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and assembly and operations of controls systems.
Essential Responsibilities
•Work individually or as part of a team with regard to assembling and installation of controls systems
•Must possess a strong work ethic, have a high standard of integrity and professionalism
•Must be a self-starter, must have excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervision
•Operation of heavy equipment, such as forklifts and overhead cranes
•Experience working with hand tools, power tools and hydraulic test equipment
•Ability to maintain focus and a high level of accuracy when working on equipment
•Working knowledge of job site safety, as well as the ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
•Must possess attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize job tasks
•Ability to establish, manage, plan and think strategically
•Maintain a clean and safe working environment
•Other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
•Read and understand pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical control, PLC control schematics and bill of materials.
•General mechanical knowledge of the pneumatic and hydraulic operation of pilot valves, regulators, dampers, accumulators, control valves, gauges, air motors, pneumatic, and hydraulic pumps.
•General mechanical knowledge on the operation of piston, tri-plex, diaphragm, and axial style pumping systems.
•Ability to correctly select, install, and integrate sub-components into overall unit assembly in logical order.
•Ability to correctly visualize, measure, bend, and install pneumatic and hydraulic tubing interconnects to include making up tube and fittings per the manufacturer's guidelines, and the utilization of a cone and threading machine
•Ability to correctly visualize, measure, cut, thread, and install pneumatic and hydraulic piping interconnects.
•Able to correctly visualize, measure, cut, bend, and install tubing and cable tray systems.
•Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, or PLC functioning issues relative to the proper operation of the equipment to the root cause of failure.
•General knowledge on the different types of hydraulic accumulators, pre-charging requirements, and how to repair them.
•Able to properly document work performed and record relevant quality control records.
•Ability to understand the functional operations of equipment produced at the facility.
Qualification/Requirements
•Ability to bend and lift in excess of 50 pounds
•Must be drug free at all times
Desired Characteristics
Familiarity with a wide range of mechanical skills is preferred
Working Conditions
Perform daily duties in a manufacturing and fabrication environment at both onshore and offshore locations
