Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems in a steel warehouse environment. This role supports safe, reliable operations through preventive and corrective maintenance while adhering to strong safety and quality practices.
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and material handling systems.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
· Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
· Inspect equipment for safety concerns and correct or report issues promptly.
· Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.
· Support production operations and respond to maintenance needs as required.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures.
· Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
· High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
· 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a steel, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
· Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Ability to accurately document maintenance activities and follow written instructions.
· OSHA safety training or technical certifications a plus.
· Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or on-call as needed.
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 pounds regularly and safely.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work at heights.
· Ability to work in an industrial steel warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, moving machinery, and varying weather conditions.
· Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
· Required to comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
· Required to properly use assigned PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and high-visibility apparel.
· Required to follow lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and safe work procedures at all times.
· Responsible for immediately reporting unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents.
