Description
The Professional Land Surveyor is responsible for planning and executing all aspects of survey on a project, including directly supervising office and field staff assigned to the project.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
•Plan, organize, execute, and supervise general project surveying services.
•Develop and maintain positive client and internal company relationships.
•Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team.
•Participate in estimating and formal proposal composition on survey projects for multiple service lines.
•Establish work plan and staffing needs for multiple large- and small-scale projects.
•Supervise, direct, or conduct office analysis to establish tract or parcel boundaries.
•Coordinate and supervise field staff. Be able to provide clear direction of project scope and expectations.
•Coordinate with office staff and provide quality control of preparation of project deliverables.
•Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
•5+ years of boundary surveying and project execution experience.
•Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
•When applicable, supervise technical staff members and field crews.
•Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
•Attention to detail, ability to multi-task.
•Ensure deliverables meet quality control standards.
•Position Requires a Professional Land Survey License (PLS), Surveyor in Training (SIT) license, CST III-IV certification or equivalent will be considered.
•Eligible by education and experience to qualify for licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor if not currently licensed.
•Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
•Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
•Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with the manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
•Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
•Position is flexible based on employee location, we are open to in office, hybrid, or fully remote option (to be determined on a case-by-case basis).
•Is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
•Is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
•Occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
