Description:
It is the role of the Designer to design process equipment and create facility layouts consistent with GasTech design and process standards and including all client specific design requirements. This position uses solid modeling to create detailed designs, generates the manufacturing drawings and bills of materials (BOMs), while preparing all ancillary relevant design documentation in support of performing the client contract. The responsibility of the position is to provide a design that is complete, accurate, and understandable, while meeting schedule and cost targets. All designs and documentation shall meet or exceed client requirements on each assigned project. It is the goal of the position to support GasTech Engineering as the most respected equipment and solutions provider in the market and for the customers we serve.
Requirements:
•A minimum of 1 year of experience designing oil & gas equipment or facilities, is preferred but not required.
•An associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an engineering environment is preferred but not required.
•Excellent technical proficiency with Mechanical Design Proficiency with Mechanical Design using solid modeling software (e.g. Inventor) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required, and should align with the candidate’s level of experience. More advanced candidates are expected to demonstrate a higher level of skill and independence in design work, documentation, and technical communication.
•The ability to work with minimal supervision and to deliver assignments to meet due dates is required.
•Effective problem-solving skills, while remaining creative and innovative, is required.
•The ability to effectively communicate and defend design concepts to both internal and external customers is required.
•The ability to demonstrate effective communication skills to work with our internal functional teams is required, including frequent communication with the project management team and all organizational levels, clients, and third-party vendors.
•Minimum 3 years of experience in routing all piping, skid and structure assembly parts to the applicable code included ANSI Codes, ASME Code, AWS welding Standard, and OSHA standard is required.
•The following types of experience and knowledge are preferred:
•Minimum 3 years of experience in industry tolerancing knowledge for the product designs, such as GD&T .
•Minimum 5 years of detailing Piping ISOs, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
•Minimum 3 years of using Product Data Management and/or Product Lifecycle Management platform such as Vault.
•Demonstrable knowledge of documentation control and/or technical drawing revision change control and obsoletion practices.
•Demonstrable knowledge of fitting, welding, and assembly processes.
•Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
•SolidWorks, CADWorx, Inventor, or Plant 3d experience is preferred.
•Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred.
