The Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day inventory activities on the production floor and in the warehouse, ensuring accurate material movement, inventory integrity, and adherence to inventory control processes. This role serves as the primary point of contact for inventory execution, supporting production flow and assisting the Inventory Control Manager with cycle counts, audits, and process improvements.
- Execute daily inventory transactions including receiving, put-away, staging, and material issuance to production
- Ensure inventory movements are accurately recorded using barcode scanners and ERP systems
- Maintain proper labeling, location accuracy, and organization of inventory areas
- Perform daily and weekly cycle counts as assigned
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies and assist with root cause analysis
- Support physical inventory counts and audits
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, and shipping teams to ensure material availability
- Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages, overages, or potential issues impacting production
- Ensure materials are staged accurately and on time for manufacturing schedules
- Act as a lead resource for inventory clerks and warehouse associates
- Train team members on inventory procedures, barcode scanning, and ERP usage
- Reinforce inventory control standards, safety practices, and accountability
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and storage efficiency
- Support 5S and lean initiatives in inventory and warehouse areas
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- 2–4 years of inventory, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
- Prior lead or senior-level experience preferred
- Working knowledge of inventory control principles and material flow
- Experience using ERP systems and barcode scanning technology
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with production and warehouse teams
- Basic problem-solving and data entry skills
- Ability to work on the warehouse and production floor for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to [50 lbs] as needed
