PGP Energies is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer for Piping Products to manage the procurement of piping materials and equipment in alignment with company objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing piping products, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
Source and procure piping products such as pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, and other related materials in compliance with project requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
Obtain and analyze quotations, proposals, and bids, negotiating competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Ensure all purchases align with industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API) and client specifications.
Manage and process purchase orders (POs) accurately and efficiently in the CORE system.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term business partnerships.
Monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and service levels.
Evaluate supplier capabilities and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
Address any supplier-related issues, including delays, discrepancies, and non-compliance.
Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and prevent project delays.
Coordinate with the logistics and warehouse teams for shipment tracking and inventory management.
Work closely with project teams and internal stakeholders to understand material requirements and priorities.
Ensure accurate documentation and maintain records of purchase transactions.
Analyze market trends and pricing fluctuations to achieve cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value while maintaining quality standards.
Assist in budgeting and cost planning for procurement activities.
Ensure all purchased materials comply with company policies, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Review and verify mill test certificates (MTCs), material specifications, and technical compliance documents.
Coordinate with the quality control team for inspection and testing of materials before acceptance.
Prepare and present procurement reports, tracking cost savings, delivery performance, and supplier evaluations.
Maintain accurate records and databases related to procurement activities for audit and compliance purposes.
Provide recommendations for process improvements based on procurement data and analysis.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is an advantage.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on piping products in the oil & gas, energy, or construction industry.
Strong understanding of piping specifications, materials, and international standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO.
Experience working with procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Good knowledge of piping materials, grades, and specifications used in industrial applications.
Familiarity with supply chain processes, vendor management, and logistics coordination.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
