As an Accounting Analyst II, you will play a crucial role in supporting accounting functions within our organization. Your responsibilities will include compiling and Interpreting financial Information for management decision making; as well as, looking for ways to optimize business processes through technology and automation, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs. Responsibilities/Expectations:•Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysis
•Prepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customers
•Provides requested documentation and clear explanations for both internal and external audit processes
•Participates as a project team member and a resource for colleagues with less experience
•Processes and analyzes significant amounts of data while identifying opportunities for process improvement with a focus on efficiency and automation
•Supports the regulated financial reporting function with the monthly close and the quarterly and year-end reporting processes
•Reviews contracts for Accounting Standards Codification 606 (ASC 606) implications
•Prepares and analyzes data for transportation and storage business which includes invoicing customers, recording revenue and handling related accounts receivables
•Provides support for rate case submission
•Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
•Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum two (2) years experience in accounting in the energy industry
Other Requirements:
•Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
•Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
•Promotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departments
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills
•Preferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), and SOX
•Preferred: Prior experience in regulatory accounting, financial reporting and statement consolidation
•Preferred: Prior experience with Oracle ERP or similar applications, Workiva, and PowerBi
, Performs moderately complex accounting activities under moderate supervision and guidance. Makes practical application of technical accounting practices. Develops solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity not requiring knowledge of past experiences or practices.
