Buckley Associates is the Northeast’s leading supplier of commercial HVAC products. A family run organization with several branches strategically located within the Northeast, Buckley represents over 40 different product lines and manufactures of HVAC products in our Corporate Office/Manufacturing facility located in Hanover Massachusetts. We are actively seeking an articulate, organized and skilled HVAC service technician capable of providing a high level of technical support to perform factory certified startup for the equipment sold by our Sales Team. This would include but not limited to: Tempered Air Products (energy recovery, make up air systems), gas detection equipment, terminal equipment chilled beams and semi-custom air handlers, Lab Controls, VFD’s, room pressure controllers.
· Confirm service appointments 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment.
· Coordinate with customers and Buckley Associates authorized Service Companies to execute service calls to repair equipment, provide equipment start-up services, or end user training.
· Utilize Microsoft Outlook scheduler to stay abreast of all appointment changes and equipment specific issues.
· Perform detailed on-site equipment evaluations and perform the necessary work including but not limited to field modifications, warranty issues, and controls trouble shooting.
· Able to effectively explain product symptoms and field conditions to factory techs.
· Provide electronic field reports to the customers, manufacturers and sales staff describing what was found, the work performed during inspections and recommendations.
· Maintain service logs for all service calls made by Buckley Associates or service company technicians.
· This position will require a general understanding of mechanical systems and control strategies such as Constant Volume and VAV systems (i.e. Fans, VFD’s, Air Handling Equipment)
· This position will require a strong background in controls, reading wiring diagrams, ability to wire and rewire rooftop equipment, add/make controls changes to equipment on site.
· Applicant must have excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and be able to work under pressure.
· Applicant must be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and IPAD/IPHONE.
· Demonstrate ability to multitask, organization skills, and attention to the details.
· Ability to work in a high stress environment, maintain composure and treat others with respect.
· Extremely efficient, with excellent time management skills
· This position comes with a fair amount of Autonomy, the successful candidate will have the responsibility to be productive and schedule/reschedule service visits to avoid making the customers wait for start-up.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment
· MA Refrigeration Technician License and RSES Refrigerant Usage Certification
Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces.
