Ovintiv’s field operations team is seeking a Compression Technician for the Anadarko Operating Area based out of the Foster, OK office supporting the SCOOP and STACK. This position will be responsible for assisting compression vendors and the supervisor in maintaining optimum availability and run times of all engine driven compression systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking maintenance projects and maximizing productivity of vendor labor force, and will be responsible for the evaluation of reliability trends to improve the overall maintenance program.
Responsibilities:
•Support maintenance and reliability strategy through management of repair and replacement activities
•Provide technical support for equipment repairs and replacements
•Assist in selection of equipment for replacement
•Review existing vendor preventative maintenance programs
•Approve contractors for maintenance functions and identify contractors for specific tasks
•Assist with implementation of preventative maintenance programs
•Identify, coordinate and implement planned and unplanned maintenance projects
•Ability to read and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
•Lead by example and foster Ovintiv’s culture of safety with service providers
•Plan and oversee compressor moves, schedule and communicate between all parties for PSSR’s
•Ensure Vendors are in compliance with Ovintiv safety, Orientation, SWSA forms, Risk Mitigation forms, etc…
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Associate's degree with mechanical background or equivalent work experience preferred
•Engine and compressor schools/training or extensive work experience preferred
•3 or more years oil field experience in maintenance planning or execution including execution of fleet maintenance program
•Extensive working knowledge in engine, compressor mechanics, production equipment and natural gas compression
•Knowledge of new compressor technologies, and comprehensive mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills
•Self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
•Strong organizational skills
•Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, and ability to schedule, relay and report on daily tasks
•Reside in or relocate to Lindsay, OK area to best support 5/2 rotation schedule
•Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Outlook
•Physically able to obtain medical certification to wear full face respirators, work outdoors, climb ladders and stairs with occasional work on elevated equipment
•This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing
•Currently eligible or able to obtain clearance to work in the United States
•Must have a valid driver’s license
