Job Summary
Family-owned and operated Metals Recycling Company seeks a hands-on Yard Manager to oversee the day to day operations of a small recycling facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small team of yard employees, ensuring safety, productivity, and efficiency.
- Oversee daily operations including receiving, processing, and shipping of non-ferrous and ferrous materials.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized yard in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor equipment usage and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs.
- Manage inventory and material flow to support customer needs.
- Weigh incoming and outgoing truck loads on scale.
- Supervise truck loading.
Requirements
- Previous experience in metals recycling, scrap, or a related industrial/yard environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with yard equipment (loaders, forklifts, shears, balers, etc.)
- Good organizational, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to be hands on and lead by example.
