The Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a vacuum truck to transport and dispose of liquid and solid waste from industrial and oilfield sites, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Operate vacuum truck to remove waste such as sludge, drilling fluids, spills, and other non-hazardous or hazardous materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring all systems are functional.
- Drive to and from job sites, including oilfield locations, tank farms, and disposal facilities.
- Monitor vacuum pressure gauges and fluid levels during operations.
- Load, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company procedures and local regulations.
- Complete necessary documentation (manifests, logs, job tickets) accurately and on time.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Communicate with dispatch, customers, and site supervisors effectively.
- Assist with basic maintenance of the truck (greasing, fluid checks, cleaning).
- Work in varying conditions, including inclement weather, remote locations, and long hours.
- Grade 12 education or above.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments.
- Having a valid class 1 driver license or Class 3 with clean abstract.
- Strong work ethics and Mechanical Aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to effectively convey directions, guidance and information.
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.
