WestCorp Solutions is seeking a Risk-Based Inspection Engineer to support our client in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The successful candidate will update equipment strategies for fixed equipment using Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies, in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a contract position that runs through December 31, 2025, with potential for extension based on client needs. The ideal candidate would be local to the area, as no camp accommodations are provided. This is a Monday to Friday role with 8-hour workdays. Client-provided bussing is available to and from Fort McMurray and the worksite daily.
Key Responsibilities
•Update equipment strategies for fixed equipment using Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies.
•Evaluate damage mechanisms based on process conditions and inspection history to determine probability of failure.
•Provide and document recommended mitigating actions to reduce risk and maintain mechanical integrity.
•Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment involving inspection personnel, mechanical engineering, operations, and process technical teams.
•Ensure all strategy updates align with applicable Alberta regulatory requirements and relevant industry Codes and Standards.
•Support documentation and technical analysis through the effective use of engineering systems and tools.
Qualifications
•Undergraduate degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
•Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.).
•Proven ability to manage time independently and address multiple technical issues concurrently.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various stakeholder groups.
•Knowledge of applicable Codes, Standards, and Alberta Regulatory requirements for fixed equipment is considered an asset.
•Experience using PESTRA for equipment strategy development is preferred.
•Familiarity with GE APM and API 581 methodologies is preferred.
