Job Description:
The Catalyst and Coolant technician will perform chemical washing processes to restore used catalysts and perform phased resin-based cleaning procedures to reclaim coolant. The technician must be able to identify reusable components, measure and add appropriate chemicals, and maintain high levels of safety. This position will be dealing with crane operations, reclamation equipment, adding and disposing of various chemicals, and a variety of testing equipment and measuring devices. This role will also require knowledge of the components and the ability to accurately inspect them to ensure that the physical damage is minimal and the integrity of them remains intact.
Essential
Duties:
•Identifies and inspects components for viability of processing.
•Use appropriate cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals to remove any type of debris from catalytic converters, coolant, and radiators.
•Responsible for careful inspection after the cleaning process to ensure the quality of the components.
•Prepares all materials needed for cleaning each component.
•Annotates meticulous records measuring success and output in all three component categories as well as documentation of process findings.
•Always adapts and improves processes.
•Interprets, converts, and measures appropriate chemicals needed for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
•Monitors and communicates critical reorder points of chemicals.
•Regular use of overhead crane.
•Utilize appropriate methods to purify coolant and remove contaminants effectively.
•Ensure recycled coolant meets industry standards.
•Regularly maintain and calibrate all equipment necessary.
•Use forklift to load and unload trucks with restored components or materials.
•Communicates with Shop Lead on status of equipment and product completion.
•Follows Mesa Safety standards and maintenance and shop procedures.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

•High school diploma or equivalent.

•General knowledge of catalysts and radiator function.
•Honorably discharged service veterans.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
•Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

•Able to properly use equipment and measuring tools.
•Maintains high levels of attention to detail.
•Application of basic math skills.
•Able to work independently and ensure tasks are completed with little supervision.
