Warehouse & Inventory Technician
Position Summary
The Warehouse and Inventory Technician will assist in supporting logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and basic supply chain processes at the Elko Warehouse. This role focuses on learning and applying inventory control practices under supervision to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient operations.
Job Duties
•Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records at the Elko Warehouse.
•Participate in regular stock counts and support reconciliation of physical inventory with system records under guidance.
•Help implement inventory control practices to minimize discrepancies and maintain stock levels.
•Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders with support from senior staff to ensure accuracy.
•Use software to assist in tracking inventory levels and identifying trends.
•Prepare inventory reports.
•Communicate with suppliers and internal teams under supervision to address inventory-related issues.
•Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management.
•Safely and efficiently load and unload freight on trucks and trailers, ensuring proper handling and compliance with all safety regulations.
•Assist with occasional pick-up and deliveries of light vehicle loads as directed.
•Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations and team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
•Follow established work plans and procedures under the direction of senior staff.
•Learn and adhere to company policies and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
•Work with team members and the Supply Chain Manager to address basic inventory issues and meet deadlines.
•Review shipping documents (e.g., shipping notices, bills of lading) with guidance to support shipping and receiving schedules.
•Assist in coordinating shipments and ensuring compliance with basic shipping procedures.
•Support warehouse safety by reporting near misses or issues to supervisors for corrective action.
•Help maintain quality standards during the receiving process under supervision.
KPIs
•Percentage of inventory discrepancies (target: minimize errors with support).
•Inventory Turnover Rate (target: contribute to team goals under guidance).
•Accuracy in completing assigned tasks on time.
Required Qualifications
•Basic understanding of logistics or supply chain operations.
•Prior forklift experience or ability to become proficient/certified within 30 days.
•1–2 year of experience in warehousing or inventory is a plus.
•Willingness to learn inventory management processes and tools.
•Clear communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
•Basic problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward addressing issues.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively with guidance.
•Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in inventory tasks.
•Familiarity with MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word); experience with ERP systems like Dynamics 365 is a plus but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
