Position Overview
Guzman Energy is seeking a creative and effective Director of Marketing & Communications to join our team, reporting to our Senior Advisor for Brand Marketing on the Commercial team. In this role, you will create formal and informal materials, messaging, and presentations to increase awareness of the Guzman Energy brand, improve our sales funnel, maintain a consistent and on-brand social media presence, and support business growth.
Base Compensation:
base salary ranging from $125,000 - $150,000 per year and an annual targeted performance bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Sales Enablement & Commercial Materials
•Create compelling sales collateral, presentations, and marketing materials that effectively communicate our value proposition and products
•Collaborate with our business development team to understand customer needs and develop targeted content and materials that educate and ultimately drive new contracts with prospective and existing customers
•Develop a campaign approach to reaching defined prospects through a variety of appropriate marketing channels, including digital and traditional mechanisms i.e. direct mail, billboards, and sponsorships
•Design and produce presentations for customers, industry conferences, external affairs meetings and other business development opportunities
•Maintain a consistent brand voice across all commercial materials
•
Social Media & Digital Presence
•Partner with the chief commercial officer to translate strategic vision into actionable business plans and that leverage the Guzman Platform
•Lead and execute expansion initiatives across multiple markets, including:
•Develop and execute social media strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and brand positioning
•Create engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and other relevant platforms
•Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategies to optimize performance
•Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop thought leadership content
•Assist with coordinating community engagement initiatives and stakeholder communications
•Support the development of external communications related to new partnerships, projects, and company milestones
•Prepare materials for industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements
•Collaborate on content for external newsletters, industry publications, and PR initiatives
•Assist with ongoing updates to the company website as neede
•
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Work closely with the Senior Advisor on brand marketing, reputation management, and public relations strategies
•Support internal communications to ensure alignment across departments
•Partner with business development, operations, and technical teams to gather accurate information for marketing materials
•Assist with marketing budget planning and tracking
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
•7+ years of experience in marketing, with demonstrated success in B2B environments
•Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design, presentation, and content creation skills
•Experience with sales enablement and supporting business development teams
•Proficiency with design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) and presentation tools
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong project management abilities and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
: Ability to connect market opportunities with organizational capabilities and develop winning strategies
: Experience working in the energy sector, including renewable energy or utilities, with a clear understanding of industry dynamics
Knowledge of energy markets, wholesale power structures, and current sustainability initiatives and trends
•Marketing Technology Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems to drive targeted outreach and engagement
•Digital Marketing Expertise:
Proven background in managing digital marketing efforts, including social media campaigns, content strategy, and performance analysis
