The Leadership Development Manager at UPS Industrial Services plays a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and coordination of leadership and organizational initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Organizational Development, this position collaborates closely with training teams and field leadership to ensure alignment between leadership practices, company values, and operational goals.
The Leadership Coordinator helps plan and facilitate leadership programs, manages departmental resources, tracks project outcomes, and provides administrative and strategic support. This role is essential for fostering a strong leadership culture that promotes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organization.

- Support the Director of Organizational Development in planning, coordinating, and executing leadership and organizational development initiatives.
- Assist in the design, scheduling, and facilitation of leadership training sessions, workshops, and orientations.
- Track, organize, and update leadership development materials, resources, and SharePoint content for accessibility and consistency.
- Maintain project trackers (“Planner”) to monitor progress, outcomes, and deliverables across leadership programs.
- Partner with training, safety, HR, and field leadership teams to ensure programs align with operational needs and company standards.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, workshops, and leadership events (agendas, materials, attendance, reporting).
- Gather and analyze feedback from participants and leadership teams to measure effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate internal communications to promote leadership initiatives, training opportunities, and organizational priorities.
- Assist with evaluations, after-action reviews (AARs), and leadership assessments to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between the Organizational Development department and other business units to ensure alignment and integration of leadership practices.
- Discuss and support corporate and division policies, procedures, and service standards consistent with corporate standards.
- Provide employees with guidance in handling problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
- Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.
- Train and instruct employees in job duties and company policies or arrange for training to be provided.
- Evaluate employees’ job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action.
- Develop and nurture personal relationships with key client personnel, including attending client meetings, committees, and performing sales/marketing functions related to pursuing additional client projects.
- Complete special projects and other additional duties assigned within this role.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum undergraduate degree with 5 years of leadership experience in progressive leadership positions. Military leadership is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in leadership development, training, or project management (e.g., CPLP, SHRM-CP, PMP) are a plus.
- Prior coursework or experience in training, adult learning, organizational behavior, or leadership development is preferred.
- Continuing education or professional development in leadership, coaching, and team development is highly valued.
- Must be able to obtain TWIC Card if required by client.
Work Environment

- This position is a field position requiring daily travel to, through, and in field construction sites, in outdoor ambient conditions, including extreme weather, uneven surfaces, heights, and locations where chemicals and flammable materials are being used, processed, and treated.
- Travel up to 75% of the time based on business needs.
- Typical work settings are the office, field, and manufacturing/chemical/refining plant, which may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and manipulate at least 45 pounds consistently.
- Must be able to wear required safety equipment and navigate stairs, ladders, and uneven surfaces efficiently.
- Accurate and clear vision and hearing.
- Sufficient body dexterity to bend, stop, and reach for or otherwise gather tools, construction materials, office materials, and equipment on an ongoing basis.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods, as well as stand for extended periods.
