Compensation: Competitive hourly wage – based on experience
WANTED: Individual with strong background / training in geology or engineering seeking full-time, seasonal employment for summer 2026 in Northern Canada (Yukon). The role will be working alongside sonic drills, processing and reporting on core samples for mineral exploration. We work 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week, with flexible time off (depending on length of contract) in remote environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working around drill rigs. Experience in the placer industry and the recovery of placer gold is highly desirable and preference will be given to candidates in the Yukon (or neighboring territories).
Job Description: Catalogue, organize, and process placer core samples. Log and tabulate results in Excel/ARCMAP/QGIS. Survey and GPS hole locations. Assist in drone mapping and photogrammetry.
-Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or other relevant field preferred – equivalent experience accepted
-Must be meticulous and have a strong attention to detail
-Must be able to conform to a high standard of work and take responsibility for accuracy of data
-Must be physically fit and capable of lifting 75 lbs
-Experience with processing alluvial samples (i.e. gold panning) is preferred
-Must be reliable and consistently show a willingness to work throughout the season
-Due to demanding physical job requirements, applicant must be physically fit and willing to work in all weather conditions
-Must be prepared to live and work in a remote camp environment (room and board are provided, satellite internet and communication is available)
