Position Overview
: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Manager, Logistics & Procurement to oversee end-to-end logistics and purchasing functions that support MN8 Energy’s growing project portfolio. This role is responsible for optimizing material flow from suppliers to project sites, managing transportation and supplier relationships, and leading the procurement of critical equipment and materials. While this position will maintain oversight of basic warehousing functions, the focus will be on strategic sourcing, logistics coordination, cost control, and supplier performance.
As the Sr Manager, Logistics & Procurement, you will:
Procurement & Buying:
•Lead sourcing and procurement of critical components, including solar modules, inverters, racking systems, battery energy storage equipment, EV charging hardware, and balance-of-system materials.
•Drive the strategic shift toward direct purchasing from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to reduce dependency on intermediaries, secure volume discounts, and improve delivery timelines.
•Establish and maintain strong working relationships with OEMs to ensure visibility into spare part product roadmaps, production schedules, alternative part option, and emerging supply risks.
•Build, evaluate, and expand a diverse network of distributors to improve material availability, regional coverage, and flexibility in project execution.
•Regularly assess distributor performance based on pricing, delivery timelines, customer service, and inventory readiness.
•Develop a tiered supply strategy that balances direct OEM procurement with distributor partnerships, depending on project timelines, risk exposure, and market availability.
Logistics & Transportation:
•Develop and manage logistics strategies that ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites while minimizing costs and delays.
•Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders.
•Monitor and track shipments to ensure accuracy, condition, and timely arrival.
•Oversee customs compliance and international shipping processes as required.
Warehousing (Limited Scope):
•Maintain oversight of 3PL-managed warehouse services for inventory storage and distribution.
•Ensure warehouse partners meet service levels and comply with safety, quality, and operational standards.
•Align warehousing activities with procurement and logistics needs.
Systems & Analytics:
•Use data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
•Lead the implementation and management of procurement and logistics software tools and reporting dashboards.
Team Leadership:
•Manage and develop a team of procurement and logistics professionals.
•Foster cross-functional collaboration to streamline supply chain processes and support organizational goals.
Our Ideal Candidate will have
:
•10 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally within the renewable energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
•Demonstrated success in negotiating vendor agreements and managing supplier performance.
•Strong knowledge of transportation, freight, and supply chain planning.
•Proficiency with procurement and logistics software; ERP experience a plus.
•Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
•Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
•Familiarity with customs, international shipping, and Incoterms is desirable.
