Overview
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing or vacuuming them.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Gather and empty all trash.
- Service, clean and supply the restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, walls, desks, tables, bookcases, etc.
- Mow and trim the lawn, shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers and clear debris from grounds.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, parking areas using snow blowers, shovels and spread now melting chemicals.
- Help set up, arrange and remove decorations, tables and chairs for company events.
- Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
- Help clean and restore the building interiors damaged by fire, smoke or water using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Works safely at all times and complies with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices, keeping guards in place at all times.
- Offers suggestions relative to job improvements such as methods, procedures, ways of doing things, housekeeping, cleaning agents, safety equipment, etc.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of janitorial supplies: brooms, towels, soaps, disinfectants, deodorants, cleaning powders and solutions, mops, toilet tissue, etc.
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
- Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
- Potential splash exposure near process lines.
- Responsibilities are repetitive in nature.
- Various chemicals used in process.
