Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating the company’s compliance requirements across all operations and projects, with a strong focus on Prevailing Wage compliance. The Compliance Coordinator will support the company in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, while also assisting with legal and contractual matters. The ideal candidate is proactive, knowledgeable in labor and regulatory compliance, and able to collaborate effectively across departments. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and works closely with the Legal/Contractual team.
- Compliance Oversight: Coordinate and monitor compliance requirements across company operations and construction projects (insurance, lien waivers, bonds, prevailing wag). Ensure compliance with the project requirements as well as with all relevant federal, state, and local.
- Prevailing Wage & Labor Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with prevailing wage rates and requirements including Davis-Bacon and applicable State-Specific regulations. Monitor wage determinations, fringe benefit calculations, rates, ensuring company, as well as, Subcontractors’ compliance. Prepare and maintain documentation to support audits, agency reviews, and tax credit compliance requirements.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as liaison between internal departments (Finance, HR, Construction) and external partners to ensure consistent compliance practices. Address and resolve subcontractor non-compliance issues through clear communication and corrective action processes.
- Legal & Contractual Support: Assist management with legal and contractual matters, including review and preparation of documents. Review agreements to incorporate compliance requirements to be aligned with company standards.
- Team & Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Construction, Procurement, and HR teams to ensure consistent compliance practices. Support the development of internal controls and procedures to improve compliance efficiency. Additionally, if needed, provide guidance and training to staff and subcontractors regarding compliance processes.
- Minimum of 5 years (or 3 years with exceptional qualifications for this position) in compliance coordination, construction compliance, or related role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Legal Studies, or related field
- Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, Davis-Bacon Act, and certified payroll requirements.
- Familiarity with construction industry regulations and government-funded projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capable of working effectively within a team and providing clear instructions.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with compliance management or financial analysis tools.
