About the Role:
UPS Industrial Servicesis in search of an industrial
QC Supervisorin Chalmette, LA. The successful candidate will be capable of reading and understanding P&ID’s and isometric drawings. QC Supervisor is responsible for quality of assigned area of project, including documentation requirements - client, company, and other; weld/flange tracking, welder certifications/performance, NDE requirements, Code work, etc. Must maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner, and ensures employees comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.

- Must be able to pass background check.
- Must have a valid TWIC card.
- Must be able to pass a physical and PFT/FIT test.
- Must have above average leadership abilities and be able to lead by example.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have transportation to and from job site.
- Be familiar and be able to interpret the results of various NDE methods such as PT, MT, UT and RT.
- Deal with AI, client reps. and third party inspectors.
- Be proficient in the testing of assembled vessels by pumping water or gas under specified pressure into vessels and observing the vessels and instruments for evidence of leakage.
:
- Responsible for the quality control of the entire project and every aspect of client quality requirements. This includes documentation requirements set forth by UPSIS, the client, ASME code work and other governing codes.
- Responsible for the management of weld tracking/mapping, verifying welder certification and performance, and project NOE requirements.
- Flange/fastener Tracking and Mapping.
- Supervision of all UPSIS QC Inspectors for the respective project.
- Communication with UPSIS Project Manager, client representatives, and Quality Management.
- Ensure all client, UPSIS, and jurisdictional requirements are met.
- Insure that required documentation copies go to client and UPSIS archives.
- Interact with the Authorized Inspectors, client representatives, and third-party inspectors.
- Act as mentor to QC Technicians.
- Must be willing to comply with UPS Industrial Services, LLC Safety Policy and/or any related OSHA/ANSI standards regarding proper wearing of PPE, safe work practices, etc.
- Must be able to work alone or with a team as required; varies by the project size.
- Must have above average leadership abilities and must utilize UPSIS leadership principles.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and computer operations.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to converse with customer engineering contacts as well as craft and supervision.
- Must be willing to work for extended hours and willing to work over their scheduled shift, if required.
- If required by discipline, they must be familiar and have handled ASME code work while working with an Authorized Inspector (NBIC) or an API 510 Inspector from start to finish.
- Must be familiar with WPSs, PQRs and WPQs.
- Be able to select WPSs for welding different base metal P-numbers.
- This position requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

- Candidates must have at least two (2) of the following professional certifications associated with their respected discipline, and the certification must be active status and current.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector
