Environmental Technician
Purpose:
The Environmental Technician will provide environmental support to the manufacturing division by working in the industrial waste water treatment facility.
Primary Duties:
•Operate the equipment in the water treatment facility, which will include daily maintenance of all equipment used in the treatment process, monitoring control panels, adjusting pH and chemical feed rates, and making proper adjustments for best results.
•Ensure compliance to all state and federal environmental regulations by monitoring the discharge of treated waste water, the treatment and disposal of other waste materials; including waste sludges, solids, and other waste from the manufacturing process.
•Safely handle chemicals that are used to treat waste waters.
•Work effectively in a team environment.
•Adhere to guidelines related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
•Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures including complying with site specific health and safety plan. Participate in the company wide safety program and follow all safety policies and industry safety practices.
•Any other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
•Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; work experience in an environmental field, or any combination of continued education and work experience is preferred.
•Must be a responsible team player with a positive attitude.
•Must understand basic mathematical principles and have knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, weights, and counts.
Skills Requirements:
•Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
•General understanding of PCs and related software experience.
•Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
•Must be able to communicate in English for all business/job related transactions.
Schedule/Pay:
•This position follows a 12-hour, rotating shift schedule. The current opening is on nights from 6 PM - 6 AM.
•Hourly salary starting around $22 - $23/hour commensurate with experience, with a shift differential of $0.70/hour for overnights.
