Reliability Compliance Specialist or Senior Reliability Compliance Specialist (based on experience)
This position is responsible for providing NERC O&P compliance oversight of ACES’ Internal Workgroups as a member of the Reliability Services team. Additional duties include supporting member mock audits and program reviews, monitoring NERC Reliability Standards changes, and supporting the implementation of newly applicable NERC Reliability Standards on an as needed basis.
- Provide support of ACES’ compliance with NERC Operations and Planning (O&P) Reliability Standards. Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Support the annual reviews of ACES internal compliance program documents.
2. Apply understanding of NERC compliance monitoring to proactively identify compliance issues/concerns and provide recommended resolution options to management.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement technologies to automate and streamline compliance activities and monitoring processes.
- Assist with mock audits and program reviews of Member NERC Compliance Programs.
- Additional duties may periodically include:
1. Assist with developing project plans, project schedules, and project cost/hour estimates for mock audits, program reviews, and self-certification projects.
2. Monitoring NERC Standards Projects for potential changes to Reliability Standards.
3. Support implementation of newly applicable NERC Reliability Standards as needed.
4. Provide input and support to the strategic vision of the Reliability Services department.
- Occasional travel will be required to meet the expectations and obligations of ACES’ Members, Customers, and Internal Workgroups (annual travel requirements ~15%).
- Adheres to and is supportive of all ACES corporate policies and complies with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to NERC, FERC, and relevant state regulations as applicable to the position.
- Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 2+ years of related work experience preferred (NERC, compliance, system operations, or training)
- An Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

- Experience in creating and implementing detailed processes and procedures.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to identify and prioritize tasks based on risk and business needs.

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, eager to learn new tasks/jobs, and have ability to work independently.- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years of related work experience in the power industry (e.g., NERC Compliance, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.).
- An Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
