- Manage land agreements across all project phases, including ensuring timely payment of landowners, maintaining contract records and tracking key dates.
- Draft, prepare and coordinate execution of land contracts and related documents.
- Review certificates of title, title commitments and related documents and flag material issues.
- Ensure proper registration of land interests across various Canadian and US jurisdictions.
- Support project teams with renewals, releases, and processing of property tax and crown land payments.
- Attend project meetings and advise on land matters, in collaboration with internal teams, external consultants and legal counsel.
- Uphold all aspects of BluEarth's Health, Safety & Environmental policies, practices, and programs;
- Uphold BluEarth's values and consistently enhance the image and reputation of the Company; and
- Other duties as required.
As the position continues to evolve and BluEarth advances its growth plan, modifications to the key functions set out herein are likely.
Education
- Post-secondary education in land, project management or related field considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience coordinating land agreements within the energy industry, with additional experience in contract negotiation and drafting in mineral or surface land contexts considered an asset.
- Background in commercial contract review, interpretation, and drafting maybe be considered, with land-related experience preferred.
- Experience supporting acquisition activities, including review of land agreements for material issues, title and mineral review, and preparation of real property disclosure schedules, considered an asset.
- Highly flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities;
- Outstanding organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
- Proactively plan, track, and advance land-related project activities.
- Willingness to learn and apply standard commercial contract language.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, with a strategic approach to challenges.
- Exercises sound judgment and confidently seek clarity to support informed decisions.
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
- Strong work ethic and high integrity.
- Charismatic, fun, and has a sense of humor.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours when needed
