Are you ready to take your engineering expertise to the next level? We’re seeking a dedicated and driven Control Systems Engineer to play a vital role in shaping the design and construction of control systems for our natural gas compressor and meter stations. Embedded within the GTM Major Projects Operations Management team, this intermediate- level position is key to ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of technical compliance, operational reliability, and seamless integration with Enbridge’s standards and regulatory frameworks.

What You Will Do
- Provide engineering oversight for control systems design and implementation across compressor and meter station projects.
- Review and validate control system work including P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, and cause & effect diagrams.
- Ensure alignment with Enbridge’s technical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation engineers, project managers, and construction personnel.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities, including FAT/SAT testing and troubleshooting.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback during FEED and detailed engineering phases.
- Work with vendors and contractors to ensure quality and compliance of control system components.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure seamless integration of station control systems into the broader GTM infrastructure, including data flow, control logic alignment and system interoperability
- Provide technical leadership and oversight during design, implementation and commissioning phases to ensure control systems meet GTM operational requirements
- Collaborate with GTM system architecture, IT/OT teams, and cybersecurity specialists to ensure secure and reliable integration of control systems
You have:
- 4-8 years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably in natural gas facilities along with a bachelor’s degree or technologist diploma in electrical, instrumentation or control systems engineering
- Show familiarity with PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Emerson DeltaV, ABB) along with a solid understanding of SCADA systems and communications protocols (Modbus, OPS, Ethernet/IP)
- Experienced with Canadian and US regulatory codes and standards (e.g., CSA Z662, API, NEC) and are eligible to registration with APEGA as a P.Eng. or P. Tech.
- An outstanding written and verbal communicator that has strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with Enbridge’s GTM project execution framework and documentation standards
- Familiarity with Enbridge’s contractor oversight and asset integrity processes
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Work performed in typical fast paced office environment with up to 25% travel

Physical Requirements Include But Are Not Limited To
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
