About This Job
Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for 50 years is currently seeking an Assembler in our Beaumont location.
The Assembler will perform tasks that are necessary for the production process. This position aids in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of component parts and products. The Assembler will also perform occasional hydro testing duties.
•
Wear proper PPE at all times on shop floor and follow all safety protocols and procedures
•
+ Measuring tools (tape measures, dial calipers)
+ Cutting torches, plasma and grinders
+ Band saws and bundle saws
+ Manual radial drills and hand drills
+ Hot saws
+ Threading machines
+ Pressure vacuum pumps
Use tools to make or repair parts and products
•
Read PSI gauges and monitor pressurized equipment in a safe manner
•
Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with specifications
•
Assemble heat exchangers and/or vessel components for pressure testing
•
Interpret technical documents, such as schematics and blueprints
•
Operate forklift and overhead crane occasionally
•
Push, pull and roll tubes
•
Occasionally perform some MIG and TIG welding
•
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, which may include performing basic tasks when such a need arises
•
High school diploma or equivalent
•
Must be a highly safety-oriented individual
•
Some experience of drilling and tapping
•
Strong mechanical aptitude
•
Previous experience assembling Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, and/or towers preferred
•
Ability and willingness to follow instructions and work well with others
•
Verbal communication skills
•
Ability to be punctual
•
Ability to work overtime if needed
